Delaware was one of the four states, the others being Montana, Oregon and Nevada, that was grandfathered in by a federal law passed in 1991. Other states had one year to pass sports betting, but none did.
Last week the Governor of Delware signed into law a bill that will make the state a major player in the gaming world. Not only did they get sports betting, but table games were also approved.
The expectation is that sports betting will be up and operational for the start of the College and Pro football seasons in September. Table games will be introduced around Thanksgiving. Atlantic City should be shaking in their boots.
